Bicycle Rentals

Bicycling is the best way to explore Block Island! You won’t miss the fresh sea air, intimate sights or the sounds of birds, who offer song to this special place. Bicycles allow you to travel back roads, visit historic landmarks and provide efficient transportation to the beaches. Discounts for Old Harbor Bike Shop are available, just mention your staying with us!

South East Lighthouse

Head south on Spring Street to Southeast Light. Built in 1874, this National Historic Landmark has been visited by both Ulysses Grant and Bill Clinton. It would have fallen off an eroding cliff if not for a grass-roots effort to move it back from the edge nearly 20 years ago.

Mohegan Bluffs

Continue up Spring Street for a scenic, quiet, must see… Some 100 Stairs take visitors to the beach below the towering clay Mohegan Bluffs on Block Island’s Southern Shore and BI Wind Farm.

The Glass Float Project

The Glass Float Project was created by Eben Horton to promote the beauty of Block Island and to give visitors to the island a wonderful way to explore, whether you are visiting for the day or for extended stay. Hundreds of blown glass elements (similar to the glass net floats used by Japanese fishermen) are made at Eben’s Studio …www.glassfloatproject.com/
